Would anyone be able to shed some light on the above? I don't know how many of these factories were in London, I have info that apossible relative died at "Standard Telephones Factory", they were a civilian, date 23/08/1944, the reporting authority was East Barnet, Urban District.
Where would I need to go to find more info? Thanks

Try looking for Standard Telephones & Cables Ltd in either East Barnet or New Southgate. Relatives of mine worked there during WW2. For details of the actual death perhaps you should look in the local newspapers, the Barnet Press covered East Barnet.
Good luck

Just to say, if they died as the result of the war, the name would be recorded by the CWGC site for ' Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour 1939 - 1945'

Have a search on Google....

From Wikopedia..
Between 1939 and 1945 significant military work was undertaken with many developments particularly with regard to aerial warfare: communications, radar, navigational aids, and especially OBOE

See also an article which seems to relate to the same factory, as the dates match....?
