Yes, allowing for mistranscriptions. As daddymuzza said, you can check them on scotlandspeople, which will give you their parents' names.

Thank you Potty. Does that mean they're correct then?

The marriages you list are extracted from the Civil Marriage Register - not a church. If you look at one of the entries, at the bottom its says Source Call 6035516 REGISTER. If you click on on the number, it gives you the source of the entry - in this case Register of Marriages.

Thank you SatNav, I'll give it a go.

That James is mine as he was in prison in the 1851 census.

I have to go on a course now, then back to work but I will check back tonight.

Thank you

What I would do is look for the couples in the census before marriage and after and see if the details match.

as far as I know Batch Numbers refer to the sourceof the information and would be for a particular church.

Batch numbers are used to identify the sources of records included on the I.G.I

info on here:

RB, thank you for your reply.

I do have all 5 of these names in one family, parents are William Ferguson & Martha Park/s. They all have the same Batch number and I didn't know if that meant they were related or not. Alexander and Margaret were born in Leswalt, Wigtown but John, William and James were born in Ireland. (I mean my family)

impossible to say without more info. Have you seen if they are all together in 1 family prior to the marriages say in 1851 census

Can someone please tell me if these people are from the one family or not?
