Hi Robin,

I have had a quick look at your tree, and it seems correct. What you are seeing is the peculiar feature of the way that the GR tree displays the two spouses and any descendants, as I was attempting to describe in my posting of the 22nd Feb.

In your example, if you select (i.e. click) William, you just see the marriage to Mary, no descendants in this case. Click on the other husband, Unknown Freeman you see his marriage to Mary and their offspring Amos. So far so good.

However, if you click on Mary, whilst you now see both marriages, the link to Amos now appears to come from between the two husbands. Yes, I agree, it does look rather odd, but nothing to worry over, as that is the way the display seems to work.

I am having the same problem.
See William Richardson 1801 in my tree, the second husband of Unknown Freeman.
Amos Freeman shows as the offspring of a same-sex marriage....

If you are willing to let me have access to your tree for a short period then I will check it out and let you know what I think. You will need to send me a pm and allow access, plus let me know the name that is causing the problem.

Hi,
The main problem is after pressing partner and adding the second husband details I cannot access the wife again when I press her box. It continues to show the second husbands details.

Not quite sure what the problem is. Also it will only ever show the wife's maiden surname against her details, never her previous married name.

Just checked one of mine and it shows, all three from left to right with two lines between each of the names. You need to select (i.e. click on) the common spouse i.e. the wife in this case, to see all three at the same time.

Husband 1=======Husband2=======Wife, with Maiden Name

Husbands are ordered by year of birth, not date of marriage. The odd thing about the way GR display this is that the two husbands are always linked together on the left with the wife on the right, with the children for the left hand man oddly dropping down from the link between the two of them, but those of the second the second from the link between him and the wife.

I am not sure I follow.
Everyone in your tree should only be entered once and should be entered with their maiden name only.

I am trying to add a second husband but find I am unable to go back and access the wife again, it just continues to show the second husband when I press her name. I have pressed add partner to the wife and put in details of the second husband and saved. It comes up as two connected boxes and shows the wifes maiden name and not her first married name. I have never had any problem adding second wives to husbands.Can anyone please tell me what I should be doing. Many thanks.
Brian.
