Thanks to Maureen on GR I have the following information.

Passenger lists leaving UK 1890-1960

Name: Ester NEVE
Date of departure: 10 November 1892
Port of departure: London
Destination port: Wellington
Destination country: New Zealand

Date of Birth: 1861 (calculated from age)
Age: 31
Marital Status: Married
Sex: Female
Occupation: Housewife
Notes:
Passenger recorded on: Page 1 of 6
The following people with the same last name travelled on this voyage: -
Infant NEVE
James NEVE age 11

Official Number:
Master's name: F Mayoss
Steamship Line: New Zealand Shipping Company
Where bound: Wellington, New Zealand

I have looked on Ancestory to find their return but can't find any entries. I know (infant Neve) Ernest Neve, definately returned as he married in Newcastle upon tyne in the year 1914.

Can only see this one from New York, which you must have discounted:

He's not the one who died in 1939, St. Leonards on Sea, is he? He left an estate of over 10,000 pounds!

An Ernest Neve married in 1914 but in Forehoe, Norfolk to Laura Hammond.

Hi,

Marie Celeste and BatMansDaughter, Sadly it is not him in 1909 returning as he appears in the 1901 census living in Northumberland.

I dont think his mother married John J May as there appears to be no marriage but he did take on the name May. He then Married under the name May, then dropped it again in 1943 at his 2nd marriage. (on his marriage cert. as formerly known as May)

MadBull, Curiously my Nanna on her marriage cert for 1940 says he is deceased. I was told it was because he ran off and left the family. However, it turns out he was living not very far away.

Thanks for the help, I really do appreciate any help given.

Not having any luck on Ancestry to or from New Zeakabd for Neve. What is their surname on the 1901 census as I can't find anything on that either!

I'm a bit puzzled by Esther's circumstances in 1891 and her move the following year. Did she follow her husband do you know?.

There is a John Neve and Esther in 1881 census living in Norfolk

Regards

Vera.
