Also google English Polish Family History Society - there are a number of links which may be of use.

If he was in WW2 as a refugee fighter, you may be able to get his military records from the links provided on this page

National Archives may also hold Naturalisation papers.

Ancestry have a number of data bases relating to Poland - a number of them in connection to the Holocaust - others written in German. People who have access would be willing to look on there for you.

hi please can anyone help me i am trying to trace family of my grandad whos polish and have got as far as his parents names and d.o.b pathetic i know but i am getting so confused and cannot pay all the sites that claim to be able to help...does any kind soul have any advice at all that will help me? this means so much...thankyou
