Problem is, none of the births appears to have been registered. That's why I asked if you knew the maiden name.

Hi Marie,
The address they were at in 1895 for the birth of Elizabeth and also the 1901 Census was 19 Ainsley Street, Rotherhithe.

My husbands is a descendent form the Lewis family, his mother was a Lewis, his grandfather was William Lewis who married Nora Lunn in 1910 St Olave, Bermondsey.

Hello Linda, I'm even struggling to find them in 1901! Could you give the address they were at then?

I'm thinking of approaching this from a different angle. Instead of trying to work forward from the info you have, let's try working back towards 1901.

Can you give us details of any marriages or births that would have been around 1911 or soon after? You say your husband has this information first hand - is he descended from one of this family?

Hi Rose,
Have found the baptism records of the children which also states the birth dates. Got Jane's maiden name from the marriage cert. & Richard's baptism record, I know it's the right marriage as one of the witnesses is James Lewis's sister.

Have you found the birth records for any of the children? How do you know Jane's maiden name?

Marriage is definitely correct.
Siblings are correct. There was another sibling James 1880 who died aged 4 years.

The family after 1901 all details I have were told to me by my husband who knows first hand.

Really am losing it now

Birth in the right area for Richard William Hands
Not found a baptism as yet nor found him on any census

But there is an Army Service record in that name

Think I need to go and get a cup of strong coffee!!!

Ignore this as the service record in Hand

Are you certain that the marriage of James Lewis to Jane Lane is the correct one?
