Perhaps they never married. Cara would have been 18/19 and her parents might not have given permission.

Have you tried the local registration office in case they never made it to the GRO?

Gainsborough registers are now divided between Lincolnshire, Bassetlaw and North Lincolnshire districts:

Just Curious.

Irrespective of whether the churches own records have been lost a record of the marriage should have reached the GRO and appear on the index. How/why do you believe that the marriage took place at that particular church.

You say that their first daughter was born in May 1924. Presumably that is the birth that was registered in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Was that the first child of their union?

It looks like Cara Elizabeth was born in 1905

Hi Jan, Thanks for your help, GR members have looked for me, I think they are in these missing records, I was wondering if by any chance they were transcribed maybe at TNA, I don't know what else to do, I was wondering if the Diocese of Lincoln could help, I will try anything, any suggestions will be greatly recieved.

Cara Elizabeth Allison/Alison married George Henry Beevers, thier first daughter was born 24th May 1924.

Thanks

Maybe if you give us their names people can have a look for you? I assume you have looked on Freebmd?

Hi all, can anyone help please, My Grandparents were married at Holy Trinity Church Gainsborough Lincoln, this Church unfortunatley has closed, I enquired at Lincoln Archieves to see if they had BMD records but they say they only have births, and death records 1902-1925, the records for marriages only go up to 1910.
I enquired at Holy Trinity and they said they had sent all the records they had to Lincoln Archieves.

I have looked everywhere for their marriage but cannot find it, can copies of these's registers be anywhere else, if so can someone put me on the right track.

Regards
Tox
