Hi. I've been searching in the 1911 census and the subject was easy to find but he is down as being with 4 siblings and no adults at the house. How do I find his parents now ?

I thought that they all had to be on the same page but if you are right, without knowing the names of the parents, how would I bring up the page before ? Sorry for being a numpty.

I believe that you can approach GR and they will inform you, or there is a complicated way of doing it which was explained on Tips, or you can ask someone on the boards to help.
What I usually do is put the exact address in the search box, together with the surname you are looking for, then look for someone with the appropriate age of parents, or look at another census (10 years earlier/later)to find out the name of the parents.- No good if the name is Smith.- Most people would say subscribe to Ancestry.-j

Which search box do you mean, by the way. Search engine or G.R. search ?

Sorry if I confused you.
I think it may depend where you view the census.
On Scotlands People when you view a census you get a full image of the page and have the option to view the page before or after. I've had to do this a few times to get the whole family.

depending on how old he was ( or an older sibling perhaps) you could look on 1881

I have him on the 1891 as living on Oxford St. Bulweel with siblings George, Phoebe, Sam and Rebecca and I have his marriage and some children but it is backwards I'm trying to go to find out who his parents were etc.
