I have been in touch with the National Archives myself regarding this subject as my g.grandfather was given 7 months hard labour in 1893. Although I have been able to view the Old Bailey transcript online, I do not know the name of the prison. An online search of the National Archives gave me a general catalogue reference number but after I contacted the N.A. at Kew they informed me that I could only view the records at their Kew centre. If anyone else knows of a way I might find out where he was an inmate,I would be grateful.

Anyone know much about prison records. My grandmother was in Holloway, I believe, sometime in the 1930s most likely for bigamy. Are these records part of the 100 year rule, and where could I find them, I'm thinking Nat. Arc.?
Thanks Sue.
