I have a feeling you can only transfer a gedcom to another famiy tree making program, best to give them a ring.

For better results please give all the details ,name, date place as you can {pictures by me }

Well, yes, you can download a gedcom format file from GR and save this to whatever media you wish. however, as mentioned, you will need to install a family tree program on your PC in order to make sense of the file.

was wondering about a disc. Will wait till my sil comes
back from his hols to help me.

If you need to download it now.........you can save the gedcom to your desktop...and transfer it to disk later........

Morning Bob, Thank you for that will do but will still
have to wait for sil as do not have the confidence to
try this myself.I like things on disc as backup.

Why dont you put your tree onto a flash drive thats what I have done..

Can buy them in tesco for £8 99 called Cruzer Blade USB Flash Drive.
4GB..
put your tree into a file or folder plug in the flash drive and away you
