Just checked and I think it's still available Miffed....

Go to bbc iplayer and search for "This is Britain with Andrew Marr"

Todays episode was about abandoned mixed race 'GI babies' and how black American soldiers were treated in and outside of service at that time. It followed one woman's (a GI baby herself) search for her natural parents.

I too agree with PigletsPal, why the need for a celebrity?

By the way, Is it too late to catch Andrew Marr's programme on iplayer?

Hi Gwyn,

The first one was the mining one and I just watched the episode on bbc iplayer. It didn't really go into much detail about the mining industry though.

I watched the Andrew Marr programme too PigletsPal and it was excellent! Both well worth watching I would say...

I'm recording them, but saw the one about holidays.

It makes interesting viewing and I look forward to catching up with the other programmes, especially if there's one about miners.
My grandfather and his family were miners.

Hi Miffed,

Just watched it and it's really good! Wish I hadn't missed the one about the miners though as my dad and grandfathers were miners! Think I'll have a look at bbc iplayer?

Anyone watching the above programme? Its been on each morning this week. Michael Aspel hosts with celebrity appearances talking about the past hundred years. Its covered lots of social history and is great fun going over old memories.
