	Could possibly mean "Half Pay" Navy. All persons, of whatever rank, engaged in the Sea Service of Her Majesty, whether in the Navy or Marines; must be inserted as Navy--adding H.P. for Half-pay; and P. for Pensioner. http://www.talkingscot.com/censuses/census-1841.htm Scroll down to (3) Occupations.

Member Since: January 2010 Posts: 78 Send Message	I wasn't too sure where to post this but.... Found a possible relative on the 1841 census and under occupation it states Navy H.P. My brain must still be asleep, I can't think what the H.P. might stand for. Has anyone got their brain working this morning and can think what these 2 letters mean? Many thanks
