birth certs after put into care

The birth registration doesnt get taken from registration of births,it remains on file for ever.hope this helps.

hi all

thank you for your advice ...

i cannot put there details on genes incase of upsetting living relatives none of which can help.....

i have sent a personnal message to mary with the details who is trying to help...

i do have good records about the children and won wrote by there mother

1926 was just a tad early for adoption. What documentation do you have for the names and dates of birth?

If it is possible to put the details on here, another pair of eyes may just be able to help.

No, once a birth is registered it remains on the BMD index forever - you should be able to find the registration on Ancestry or FMP and using the reference numbers order them from GRO.

If they had later been adopted the original birth cert will have *adopted* written on the side of the cert.

hi everyone

when children get put into care ,, do does the local authority take there birth certs out of the record books at register office ..

i know the names and dates of birth and were they were born ... but there birth certs have disapeared from the registar office..

is there anyway of finding them or were to find the carehome they went into ..

there is no baptism records either..... the year was 1926
