This has probably been said before, but this Site is marvellous and great value for money.
I had needed to do research for ages in Scotland but being a member of two Ancestery Sites, was a bit put off at having to shell out more money. Was I surprised,it`s, 30 credits for 7pounds. One uses 1 credit for a list of possible names and places, then 5 more credits to look at the Census you think is correct. The Birth, Marriage and Death Entries are set out like a Cert and very, very descriptive so one doesn`t need to order one.
Thought someone out there might be interested in these facts.
Have good day¨

Yes, Julie, the site is very good value. One tip, if you are looking for a common name before approx 1875, familysearch has lots of Scottish records and you can save some credits by finding an entry there first and then using that info to find the correct entry on scotlandspeople.

Also, freecen has some Scottish census transcriptions. 1841 is complete for Scotland and the other years have some.
