Thanks Maura - that solves that - wish we had FreeBMD for Ireland! Looks like a brick wall. Friend will have to go to Belfast and search her parish records!!

ChrisofWessex Report 6 Apr 2011 14:15

No and it is Mary - picked up in Ireland 1901 census looking for Sarah Downey - listed as Sorah and living with Mary Marquis aged 38 (sister) in Co Antrim.

Just done my sums and cannot be the same Mary Soye!! But it is still possibly Mary Soye marrying a Marquis circ 1890????

Looks like it's only coming up as a regsitration and not the actual church records.

So this is what you have?

Name: Mary Soye
Registration District: Lurgan
Event Type: MARRIAGES
Registration Quarter and Year: 1875
Estimated Birth Year:
Age (at Death):
Mother's Maiden Name:
Film Number: 101252
Volume Number: 1
Page Number: 887
Digital Folder Number: 4179385
Image Number: 00454

Do you know who she married? If not what I tend to do (bit of a trawl though);

Delete the names, add in the area and the exact year......... then look through them until you match the volume and page number.

Think I have lost the plot somewhere and need help please. In the good old days of IGI - insert a name, covering bapts/marriages etc and in the case of a marriage up would come details of spouse, church, date etc.

Now I am looking for the marriage of a Mary Soye and according to Family Search this took place in Lurgan, Ireland in 1875 - but no details other than that except page/volume/digitals numbers etc.

Is there somewhere I should feed in these details and get my info? Please!
