Hiya,

Thanks so much for your messages so far!

Ann of Green - thank you so much! I will have a look on familysearch.org. I'm fairly new to these things so have only really ever ventured on here or Ancestry so it's really useful to know where else to look. I have done most of my family up until the census in the uk stop so am a little intrepid about venturing further back as I don't know where to start so this really helps.

Does the Jewisgen site have records that Ancestry does not? It's hard to know what one should pay for?

Does anyone know if the records in Holland are accessible anywhere else?

Thanks again! xx

Hello

I've recently discovered that my great great great grandfather was an Abraham Benjamin who was born in Amsterdam, Holland abt. 1813. Does anyone know how I go about tracing relatives there? I'm also interested to know, albeit it seems fairly obvious, if he was definitely a jew and tif so would there be useful websites or online information that someone has used to track the Jewish community down in Holland during that period?

Thanks for your help in advance!
