Hi Syd,

So the 1911 census shows his birth year as 1907? This looks like his birth registration;

Births Sep 1906 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blackwell Jack Chertsey 2a 64

On tracing my wifes side of the family.I have come across a mystery. Her uncle Jack born to James and Alice Blackwell in 1907 in Addlestone Surrey. It seems that during the 2nd world war. He disappeared. Nothing was heard of him, until he turned up some time between 1972 and 1979 ( the deaths of mother in law and father in law. He stayed for about one hour and disappeared again. Nothing has been heard of him since then.(Everybody has a skeleton somewhere LOL)Any help in tracing him and or his family would be just great . Thanks Syd
