looking at the 1881 census I see it lists Primrose Hill and Primrose Cottages etc,

I wonder if Sunderland Lodge was on Sunderland Road and renamed when the church was built

A neighbouring address is Houghton Gate. This is on OS maps.

the 1881 census is where i got it from but just cant seem to find any other reference for it needs someone with local knowledge i think.

have you looked for the "neighbouring addresses" from the census record? Sunderland Gate is on the 1881 census

I have one of my ancestors who is listed as gate keep (not gov) and lives at sunderland gate lampton so i assume he was in charge of said sunderland gate and again assume it was one of the entrances to the lampton estate.

Having googled several variation i cant find either a detail map or an references to said sunderland gate.

can any of you good folk enlighten me?
