Oh God

So Peggy really could be anyone. I know she went to Australia and died there but other than that not a clue.

I guess she'll stay that way for a while for now.

Thanks all.

Hi All,

I have the family to 1901 but thanks for the work, I know his wife Elizabeth died in 1896 and when he then got remarried to Margaret in Aug 1901.

He and Margaret went on to have more children ...
Peggy (or whatever her real name was) c1902
Robert b1902 ( I have his birth record)
John c1903
Jean c1905 (apparently born in Denmark - no idea how to find this one)
Tom c1906 (I'm guessing is actually Thomas)

Sometimes a name just gets attached to a person for whatever reason.

I have a link to a Scottish family which contained a Margaret, but it was her sister Williamina who became known as Peggy.

Good luck !

Hi Linda

Can't find them on family search and I do have John and Margarets marriage in 1901 in Edinburgh.

John was a Potter Thrower in 1901 and I believe worked in the Rosebank Pottery which was apparently in the family at the time. Margaret was 18 at the time of marriage and this was John's second marriage.

They got married in August 1901.

I had a quick look on Scotlands People 2 births in Edinburgh for a Margaret Gallagher one 1900 in cannongate next 1904 in St Andrews
you will need to buy credits for SP to check the BC and find out who the parents are also if born 1901 should be on census 2 John Hay's on 1901 Census again need credits to view
have you tried looking on familysearch.org its free

Afternoon all,

I have a Scottish Peggy in my tree but can't find her - would she maybe called something else?

Her father was John Hay and mother Margaret Gallagher (Gallacher). She was born after 1901 in Scotland I'm guessing Edinburgh or there abouts - father was a potter she went to Austrlia though I don't know when.

I figure if I can find the correct name I might be onto something.

Thanks for all suggestions
