If someone died in Taunton hospital, Somerset, in about 1944/45 I presume they would be buried in Taunton? does anyone know names of cemeteries near there?

Ask the cemeteries department of Taunton Council. They may make a charge.

Do you know if this person actually lived in Taunton, or just happened to be there when they died?

If it is the latter, the body of he or she could have been taken back to the place where they normally resided for the burial.

Sue, he died there but his wife was in London .... I don`t know why. He was my mother-in-laws father but she cannot remember much about him (she`s 84) He died when she was 18. He had been hit by shrapnel in the head. I am having a lot of trouble finding out more about him. I only know for sure that he got married in 1920.

Is he perhaps listed on the Commonwealth War Graves site, if he died of a War wound.
If so, it is likely to show his burial place.

He may be in a family plot in a churchyard somewhere - maybe where he was born or where he lived .... just a thought. He may even have been cremated. Cx
