I believe my ancestor became a clergy man. I don't know where or when. Has anyone got any ideas of where I might start researching.

Many thanks, Lou

Hi Lou...

If you have an Ancestry sub you may find something on the Crockford's Clerical Directories...

Hi Looby Lou,

it would also be helpful if you had an idea of which denomination he may have belonged to as there will probably be records available for most of them.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry not responded earlier - been decorating.

I think he would have been Church of England and it would have been around 1920's or a bit earlier.

I only have him on a 1911 census when he was a child - so no occupation.

Janet and Linda,
I will look at the sites you mentioned. Thanks,

Thanks again to you all for your help and tips.

Regards, Lou

If you can locate a death certificate and then possibly find an obituary in a paper which may or may not give such details

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the tip. But I don't know when or where he died, so it's hard to know if I have found even a close match for him. All I know was that he was born in Staffordshire, but that doens't mean to say he remained there.

Thanks though will bear it in mind and keep looking.

Regards, Lou
