Just found a photo of my grandfather on a web site

Just been Googling ships my grandfather served on and have found a photo of him, on a web site, when he was serving on the HMS Emperor of India, April 1919 :))

I do have quite a few photo's of him from when he was in the Royal Marines but this is a photo of the whole crew when commissioned on the ship :-)

How wonderful
Whilst not having a photo I did Google HMS Enterprise cos a grt x umpteen grandfather was a sail maker on the vessel ,he died in 1855 & i have his will etc. Found several records for the ship and a link to Amazon for a book called "Arctic Hell Ship" The voyage of HMS Enterprise 1850-1855 and decided to buy it
What a find cos Joseph Wood the sailmaker had a small mention in it as a witness to an altercation between the first officer and another crew member. I was over the moon to see it

I just can't believe how things have escalated today coz I decided to be nostalgic this morning and look through my granddad's stuff, I love this hobby :-)

How fantastic! I remember the excitement I felt when a 2nd cousin I'd just discovered sent me a photo of my great uncle.
