There's a very small sample of WW1 POW questionnaires on the Documentsonline site

I have had contact with the red cross who can search for Prisoner of War records. don't know if they have any other records than the ones on Ancestry. Mine was a prisoner of War and it states so on his death certificate.
thanks
:-)

Do you think they would be filed with the WW1 papers? Have you tried searching for those, bearing in mind that many were burnt during WW2?

If you haven't, if you care to give their names - where born and when, last place of residence prior to enlistment, possibly name of wife if married in that period - someone could access Ancestry if you don't have it.

Does anyone know if such records exist and if they do where can I find them.
Just found on the flyleaf of an Active Service testament 1916 thes words, in Welsh and in English. Was taken prisoner March 23 1918.
The owner's name is worn away and I would like to find out who it belonged to. It could be one of three of my maternal great uncles.
Many thanks
