Hi,
I have a great-great Aunt Ellen Morris who appears on the 1881 census aged 4, with her parents William Henry Morris and mother Charlotte, in Hulme Manchester.

Ellen then disappears from all records and doesn't appear on the 1891 census, so I assume she had died by then (although mother Charlotte and new baby Hannah are both listed as inmates of Strangeways prison Manchester in the 1891 census).

I searched deaths for Ellen, and found this -

Ellen Morris,- died 1881, Jul, Aug, Sept.- Aged 4 - Chorlton, Manchester - 8c 406.

Could this be the same Ellen who was registered as 4 years old in the 1881 census ?

What month was the census taken?

Thanks for shedding any light,

Joe.
