Does anyone know where I can find if Kate emigrated to Canada and when- I can't find a British marriage or trace her daughter Billie Lorraine in England either; I believe she may have followed her sister to Canada sometime after 1911. :S

BUT.....the child's name certainly doesn't sound 'English' for the period.

The original of that passenger list says that she has been in Canada before for 3 years from 1913. It also says that she has no money and has wired her husband at 203 Garry St., Winnipeg.

Although original says that Kitty was born Regina, Saskatchewan.
Kitty is 50, born Regina, SK, housewife, Billie 22, born Winnipeg, Manitoba, a stenographer. Address for both is now 69 Lillian St., Toronto, Ontario. Looks like they've been on a cruise to Cuba.

That 1916 census gives William's occupation as soldier.

William enlisted for WW1 in Winnipeg. His address is the same as on the 1916 census, 299 Balmoral St.
Full name William Edward Oakes.
Born 30 Oct. 1881, London, England.
Wife R. Oakes, same address.
Occupation soldier.
Previously served 12 years 7th. Hussars Imperial, 1 1/2 years 34th. Ft. Garry Horse.

I do beg your pardon, Flick, for not making it clear that Oakes was her married name. It was my first post on here and I was struggling with the wording. I didn't think I deserved to be 'spoken to' in that manner. There are nicer ways of saying things and I doubt I'll post on here again now. :O
