Stuck!!!!.......shuck's this is a baffler.if there was one to be had.....Richard Abbott born 1793 in westmoreland,i have him on all censuses and all other info for him ...BUT....then he just vanishes after 1861....GONE!!! :S :S :S

Have you looked for a death for him?

That's what usually happens.................lol!

Age at death didn't appear on the index until around 1869.................

some parts of Lancaster district are not too far from Westmorland. You have not said where he was living in 1861

EDIT - possible not as Warton was a sub-district of Lancaster & only age 15

i found zilch after 1861.....not for the lack of looking....yes i am aware of that Flick...
are there any other records i could check :S

1851 living in Satley, Durham.
1861 living in Evenwood Barony, Durham

Update: Evenwood Barony is in Auckland reg'n district.

He's living with his son in 1851 & 1861. In 1871 his son is living in Carkin and Forcett, Yorkshire which is in Richmond reg'n district.
