I am looking for my ancestor Robert Pearson born c.1878 in Newcastle upon Tyne. He is on the 1891 census as in inmate in an industrial school for boys. I am very interested to see what happened to him after that.

Thanks in advance xx

Do you know when he married (he would be 33 then)?
Too many Robert Pearsons in that part of the country for quick identification in 1911

So he's not an ancestor. An ancestor is only someone from whom you are directly descended. Sorry to be picky but I see it mentioned so often. Someone talks about an ancestor but then it turns out that they're not.

I'm not 100% to be honest but I know he is not with the family in 1891 or 1901.

sorry, no hes not then, he is a distant relation ???

patchem Report 19 May 2011 20:40

If he is a direct ancestor then we know he must have had a child. If he is a brother of an ancestor he could have died, gone awol, gone abroad, changed names, all of these things etc etc.
Have you looked to see if anyone else has him in their tree?
