Thanks for that George, I have had a look but it costs £ 30 a time. I think I will keep looking and maybe use that as a last resort.

ifr you are the NOK you can apply for Royal Navy records, here is the link
you can download the application form from the site.They are not online for non commisioned officers

Pror to 1972 all records were given to the person themselves when thy left the Navy, please read the info it explains all

Hi

I am looking for Navy Records for the following: Frederick Benjamin Barnett born 2 May 1928 died 15 Feb 1971 (dates are correct as I have certs) He was a chief petty officer around 1961 but that is all I know. Any ideas??

Would you be able to look up some of my people for me please. I have a son in the Army and he is followinga very long tradition.
As I have a son in the Army I would like to learn more about this family tradition.
What inf do you need to help find these people.

Familyrelatives.com has 12 million Military Records for the Army & 2 million Navy.

Of course you need to join & pay subscription ....

If you need any help , I'm a member and will do a look up for you .or I'll try LOL

There are military records on Ancestry, & Find my past, both are subscription sites.

Also depends on the timescale you are looking for.

You wont find anything for WW2 records these are still held by the authorities and not expected to be released until 2020, although NOK can apply for them.

HI I was wondering if anyone knew of the best website to visit for finding informatin on Navy and Army enlisters. Both sides of my family are connected to the Navy and Army in Wales and Devon. Any ideas. The ones I have looked at are mainly US and abroad and I only want England and Wales Cheers :-)
