How can I find the right registration district if all I have is the town/village...eg..Witham (Essex) ?

n.b. Witham was a Reg District 1837-1880 and these villages were covered by it

WITHAM REGISTRATION DISTRICT

Registration County : Essex.
Created : 1.7.1837.
Abolished : 1.7.1880 (succeeded by Braintree, Maldon and Lexden districts).
Sub-districts : Coggeshall; Kelvedon; Witham.
GRO volumes : XII (1837-51); 4a (1852-80).

Personally I just google "registration district Witham" or whatever, find it quicker.
