The GRO index at FreeBMD covers all England & Wales - it's mostly transcribed thru the 1930s for Bs and thru the 1940s for Ms & Ds.

The local ROs in Co Durham all have some indices online via

Quoy has given one source of (mostly?) Old Parish Records

There is an unindexed collection online (the Durham bishops' transcripts) at
