Good for you, it's great fun. I find the descendant narrative part of the books is good as it helps see at a glance what other research needs to be done with out the need for printing out or constantly flitting back and forwards. Lots to learn about how to work Legacy though.

Well done for sorting it out. I really like the way Legacy prints out the family history books. You have the option of being very creative. As I said I have not used my program for quite a while and it was out of date. I Gedcommed my up to date tree into it yesterday and now I have lots of more people I can play with.

As you say there is always a way but frustrating until you find it.
I am printing happily all I need with out any overlapping.

I had 7.4 on our main PC and then you should have seen the how's your father when I tried transferring it to the laptop. So in the end I did another download and got 7.5 and then did a gedcom from one puter to the other. As I have mentioned to you before there is always more than one way to get the end result. LOL

I agree It's a good programme, I used the free version before going to the deluxe and this part worked just the same as always. I have tried various adding and subtracting tactics on the books etc on the too bar to get the children's separated like they used to be, but no luck so far.

I have 7.5 but it is not deluxe... I like their reports once I got the hang of it.
I use the reports option in the top tool bar and the click on all reports (book and others) - then I decide how much info I want eg page nos, generations etc Then you can preview it and go back and remove anything you don't want eg Title page, medical notes or whatever.

Then I print it - I am impressed with how well it works... since Tribal pages limits the number of generations one can print this one is a real boon.

Everything was as it should be on the index, report and blank options and the number box at 110%
Undid everything I had customised to default setting still 'individual report' showing children overlapping each other. Now have a very colourful screen.

Hi Anne-Marie, I have an older version 7.4. When you select the report printer there is an option bar on the right hand side of your screen. On that bar is a Help button. I clicked on that and typed in "format" and there are some options you can try.

I am assuming you have a formatting problem. There is also a customise option which might be out of whack.

Also when you go into the report set up there is an option at the bottom of the screen it goes "index options", "report options" and "blank report"

If you click on Report Options at the bottom of that screen there are the words "space lines at ...........percent of font size". The number in the box should be 110%. one hundred and ten percent.

I haven't used my Legacy for a while and am a bit rusty. Hope this helps.

I have Legacy 7.5 Deluxe edition, yesterday I printed an 'individual report' and all the children came up very quashed and overlapping each other. Never happened before and I have never changed any settings although I did try yesterday to no avail. They are back on default now.
Anyone got any ideas how to rectify this please.
