Violet had a son Donald Edward Thomason. He died in 1998.

Might be worth tracking down his children.

Hi Andysmum,

It was a one off auction and they have moved on now. It was advertised in the paper and i just went as i was curious. No there was'nt any photo's etc., in there or any connection at all. It might have been left from a previous auction somewhere they perhaps just slipped it in to get rid of!
The whole box was only £3!
I am doing a Treasure Box to leave behind, and all my things that mean a lot to me will be in there. A book of happy memories, photo's which i have hundred's which i am in the process of making up, and leaving plenty of pages blank - i dont intend going anywhere very soon!!!!!!! ;-)

Cliffette, were the other things in the box connected to the same family? Or a mixed lot put together by the auction house? Bearing in mind that not everyone regards old things like this as worth keeping (my aunt used to say "what do you want that old rubbish for?" about old photos etc) I would start by asking the auction house where they got it from. Sadly, it might have been a house clearance by relatives with no interest in heirlooms.

I hope you find a home for it.

Thank you everybody, this is second i've tried to post a reply!! Its coming up essential works being carried out by Genes!!

I feel this is such a shame when these things are gone or lost by the family. I will try to clean it up, the leather has gone slightly yellow, and its a bit tatty. But i would love to return to the family.

If anyone is on Ancestry is it possible to leave a message and ask them to get in touch with me?

Thanks again. :-D

If it was me, I would have to buy the marriage cert to satisfy my own curiosity!!!!!! :-)
As you say, when putting the names into search trees, with middle initials, nothing comes up, but there are 300 matches for Thomas Fleming and only 8 for Violet Thomason, so they could be there.
I cant see any likely children born to the couple in the Surrey area at least.
Not sure what else you can do at this point.

Hi All,

I bought a box of things in an auction recently, and was looking through it yesterday. In there is a wedding bible dated 1956 it was the wedding of Voilet G. Thomason to Thomas D.J. Fleming on Sunday January 15th at St. Peters Parish Church, Carshalton. Surrey. Witnesses A.E.Boddy and F.J. ?. Large or could be Charge.
I have looked through all the trees and Violet G. Thomason and Thomas D.J. Fleming do not show up. On the marriage search it does show up 5g 1064.
Where do i go from here please.
Thank you
