For all WDYTYA fans it is returning in August for a brand new series on BBC1.
The TV Satellite has just given a preview this week of new programmes in July and August and this was mentioned,but did not state how many there would be.

MUSIC fans were left in a spin when Bee Gees star Robin Gibb paid a surprise visit to Paisley to carry out some research into his ancestors.

The award-winning singer was spotted with a film crew at Paisley’s museum and library as he began a hunt for family links to Renfrewshire that date back centuries.

He was also seen being interviewed in other parts of the town.

Robin – who formed the Bee Gees along with his brothers Barry and Maurice before going on to achieve worldwide fame – is to feature in a new series of the popular BBC TV show Who Do You Think You Are?, which helps celebrities to trace their roots.

Yesterday, museum and library staff were remaining tight-lipped about the family tree secrets that 61-year-old Robin uncovered during his two-day visit to Paisley.

One insider told the Paisley Daily Express: “No-one is allowed to say too much because bosses at the museum and library have signed a confidentiality agreement with the BBC

The snag with the programme is that it gives the impression that 200+ years of FH can be found in under half an hour ...................and people come on here expecting similar results!

Give us a break Flick, do you really think that we are all that shallow?

"Episodes have been filmed featuring Konnie Huq and David Schwimmer, but it is not known whether these episodes will be aired. Richard Madeley is the subject for a future episode. Also, according to TV & Satellite Week, Silent Witness actress Emilia Fox will be taking part within a future episode. Comedian Alan Carr was also spotted filming an upcoming episode in Newcastle"

I was at primary school with Richard Madeley he was a couple of years older so never knew him personally

Then there is a tree on Ancestry with a Mathew Gibb born 1849 Paisley Renfrewshire but nothing coming forwards on him so I think this is him as that ties in with the BBC filming in Paisley.

My Auntie doesn't go in for all these new-fangled computers and hard-drives that you can record WDYTYR on so I got on my computer and ordered her a DVD which included the episode she missed with her favourite celeb Natasha Kaplinsky - she was well pleased - if you can't get the series in New Zealand, Persephone, maybe you could do the same?

Richard Madeley wrote about his grandfather in his book, it was very interesting, very sad ( and well written ) so I will watch that :-)

I'll watch them all anyway, I just like seeing families traced. I agree it might be interesting to see the trees of some deceased celebs. I suppose they want to feature people with interesting genealogy that can be traced, not those with 'brick walls'.

There was a series on SKY 3 a few years ago, since repeated several times, which did trace the ancestry of non-celebs who had family stories alleging relationship in the past to royalty. Some proved to be true, others not.

Was that the one where some woman thought she was related to the Queen mother?

Yes it was Jax, I remember seeing some of the programme, and if I remember rightly the person in question did look just like her, as did some of the rellies!
