Oh Maddie, thank you, yes that is them. It must have been added after my reply as I missed it. Thank you so much, did you find this on Find My Past? As I have been trying for weeks on Ancestry with no luck, thats why I think their name must have been mistranscribed. I have tried alternatives but made no progress. I was even beginning to wonder if the family had emigrated.

Thank you for all your help.

Luckylainey Report 19 Jun 2011 13:05

Please does anyone know how to find an address quickly when searching the census. I am trying to find a PENNY family in the 1891 census. I think their name may have been mistranscribed as I can find no record of them anywhere. However I have found a baptism for a son:-Ernest David Penny in 1891 in Kensal Green London. According to the record he was born in 1888 and lived in Waldo Road in 1891. The birth record shows he was born in Fulham. He was the son of David and Caroline Penny and brother of Edward and Elen Penny. I have the family in the 1881 census living at 117 Railway Cottages Old Oak common Acton Brentford Middlesex.

My question is on Ancestry is there a quicker way of searching for a particular road? I was thinking if I search Waldo Road in the 1891 census I may find the family, but I don't know how to search without going thru every enumeration district which is vast in London.

Any tips please? I would be very grateful.

Thank you, Lorraine
