You could also try The Keep Military Museum, which covers the Dorset and Devonshire regiments. The website address is http://www.keepmilitarymuseum.org/sc639_ct12_devonshire_regiment.htm

My husband's Uncle gave me a medal he had
as he knew I was interested in family history.
The medal is from WW1 for private
W.J.Rowe
number 39953
Devon R.
National Archives showed me that his name
was William
he was in the Devonshire Regiment.
He moved on to the Labour Corp
using army number 92783.
He is in the medal list as receiving Victory Medal
and British Medal. I cannot find anything more
about him or his family who I would like to pass
the medal onto.
Any idea's - is there any information on Find My
Past please.
Many thanks
Irene
