Yes, sorry

FH was an abbreviation for Family History.

Other than PAF, someone has mentioned Legacy as another free one. Just do an internet search as there are probably other free downloads.

You'd have to download the whole tree for here to your computer. Then with a FH programme to read it, you can then duplicate and split it into the required sections.

You need to duplicate it as you have to delete the unwanted names, but still have the original to play with.

Most purchased FH programmes will allow you to do this. The most popular one is Family tree maker, but there are others such as Family Historian. That one has a free 30 day down load from www.family-historian.co.uk

There are free systems such as PAF (www.familysearch.org) but not having used it, someone else would have to tell you if supports Split Trees.

The original will stay on here, but if you upload the split tree, it will overwrite it.

Hi is it possible to export, via a gedcom file, just part of your tree?

I have several different names that i am researching but would like to split the tree into different sections, is this possible?

Kind Regards Iain
