could some one advise me please.
are gro army birth certificates the same as ours, giving names of childs parents. as if not, not much good sending for the one i want

I haven't seen an army birth certificate but from what I can find by Googling it seems they do have parents names.

I would have thought they are pretty much the same as normal English birth certificates.

You could always ring the GRO at Southport and ask them.

Click on service returns at end of web page. Naturally, given the site, these are all Scottish births abstracted from the full series.

I would expect the parents full names to appear after 1837, but I've not seen any of the earlier ones, especially none of the 18th century ones.

My grandfather was in the cold Stream Guards in London and had a child. Parents names are on the certificate. that was about 1923. It was the same certificate. :-D

nb - if the birth was in London, it wouldn't be in the service register. Similarly, a death in 1917 London from war wounds wouldn't be in the WW! deaths register (although it would be commemorated on the CWGC site). BMDs within the UK were recorded in the regular registers, irrespective of cause or military status of involved parties.

My dads birth cert is an army one, he was born in India, it has the same details as a normal full birth cert but more details of my grandfathers regiment.

DEPENDS WHEN BORN
MY FATHER IN LAW WAS BORN 1923 POOHNA INDIA AS HIS THREE SISTERS,
THEIR BIRTHS ARE ENTERED IN THE LOG BOOK WHEN THE UNIT
RETURNED
TO UK IT IS COPIED WITH GRO BUT NOT S NORMAL
CERTIFICATE ISSUED,
HE WAS A MARINE WW2 THE ROYAL NAVY,IN THE 60'S HE HAD PROBLEMS GETTING A PASSPORT
ACCORDING TO GRO
HE DIDNT EXSIST..AND AGAIN WHEN HE RETIRED ,,,HE DIDNT EXSIST TOOK AGES TO SORT OUT

hi all thanks for all your replies
birth florence malita bourne 1893 born malta
my family have a photo of my nan and 'the maltese cousin'
so im trying to find any one born approx right time that could be family
hence why i needed to know whether parents are shown
nan was a crowther but her mom was a bourne
unfortunatly nan died before i started this

hello staffslass yes she did thats why i'm looking at the bourne girl.
the girl in the photo looks about nans age, thats why i'm checking out florence
