Jonesey and Porkie Pie

Thank you very much for your specific replies. I never thought of wikipedia!

Now I know why the names of the 3 Thompsons are linked with a member of my husband's family. Couldn't place them because I didn't have the Nottingham link.

Thanks again for your early morning checking of the chat column.

Lois :-)

Long Eaton is a town in Derbyshire, England. It lies just north of the River Trent about 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Nottingham and is part of the Nottingham Urban Area. Since 1974, Long Eaton has been part of Erewash

Long Eaton is in the County of Derbyshire on the border with Nottinghamshire. Most residences have a Nottingham address with the Nottingham postcode prefix NG, and use the Nottingham telephone area code 0115.

I surmise that many people were rather curt to the enumerator.
They always seem to come around a meal preparation time!
Here in NZ we have had our census for this year postponed indefinitely due to the Christchurch continuing earthquakes situation - over 7500 in Christchurch area since September last year & they still continue!

The names you list ring some bells with me but my English locator beacon is hopeless.

Where is Long Eaton please?

Love it

Wonder how many people were rude to the person trying to collect the info
