Hi there
I am trying to locate 2 lots of Army Service Records and Medal List. I have spent ages looking and getting no where fast. Could someone help and point me in the right direction please?
These men are my granfathers, the first is 'Pte Robert Charles Hewitt he was in the AVC, service No 27639' and born in 1896 in Newcastle on Tyne. I know he was invalided out as a horse kicked him and he lost the sight in one eye.
The second grandad was Pte Andrew Stephenson RAMC, service No 64743. I am sure he was born in Newcastle too, in 1894c.
I'm not a member of Ancestry and can't afford it whilst I'm paying here.
I would love to obtain copies of said Service Records if possible, so hope someone can please point me in the right direction.

Jackie
