I think wansbeck82 and Elaine are possibly searching for the same family ?

Pam

Pam Report 18 Jul 2011 08:53

Tried Thomas Cunningham (parents : Frank and Margaret) of Sunderland on FMP and both transcription and original are there. Does the fact that his birthdate is given as 1911 make any difference?

Wansbeck82 :

Try the search with the place name Southwick rather than Sunderland. I think you should find him then.

Derek,

For some reason the original census page was not on FMP only the transcription. FMP are going to put the matter right and this probably explains why you couldn't find them on GR census. Give them a few days to right the wrong and try it again to see if it shows on GR.

Copy of original provided.

The original was not available on FMP but the error will now be corrected by them.

Thank you Pam.

I know that information is available from Find My Past, but I am trying to find this entry on GENES REUNITED website so that I can use some of my credits to get a print of the original census entry.

I would still like to hear from anybody who can find this information on the GENES REUNITED website.

Does the Reference Number beginning RG14 ending SN108 help. Can you search on GR with a reference number. Can't do it myself as I do not have access to GR records.

That is quite strange, because a search on Find My Past will show up the person I am looking for but an identical search on Genes Reunited will not.
The person I am looking for on the 1911 census is NORMAN MAYCOCK born 1910 in South Wingfield and living in the parish of South Wingfield, Reg. District Belper.
If anyone can find him in 1911 on the GENES REUNITED site, then I would be delighted if they could let me know the details.

Genes are part of Find My Past.....! and FMP are currently the only organisation to offer transcribed records for the 1911 census.

I wonder which site they redirect you to, because the Findmypast and official 1901 census sites both show the people that I am looking for but not the Genes Reunited site !

Genes dont hold any records they redirect you to other sites ?

I don't think GenesReunited have transcribed any records at all. They use other site's records as far as I know.

Has anybody had problems finding people on the Genes Reunited version of the 1911 census ?
I have found people on the official 1911 census site but then cannot find them on the Genes Reunited site.
I have raised this with the Genes Reunited Support Team and they keep telling me that they must have been mistranscribed.
However, there is about half the village of South Wingfield in Derbyshire that is missing off the Genes Reunited version of the 1911 census !
I am wondering, therefore, if Genes Reunited have not transcribed all of the 1911 census and may have some Enumeration Districts missing.
I would be interested to hear other people's views on this.

Derek.
