My 3xgtgrandfather John Hobs(Hobbs) married Elizabeth Workman in Great Cheverell Wilts 19/4/1770. He was from Alderton,Wilts, born 1748 the son of Robert and Mary.
I am trying to find where and when Elizabeth ( she was known as Betty) was born, and who her parents were. Has anyone got her on their treee? I am descended from their son William born 1784 in Alderton.
Kath (nee Hobbs)

To find out if other people have her in their trees, you need to search the trees for her. Go to 'search trees' above, put the name in 'search all trees', and look at the matches.
There are quite a few William Hobbs, 1784, from Alderton, so then you can try contacting the tree owners.

BVRI shows 11 children of the couple between 1772-1789!

If Elizabeth was born in 1738, then she was 32 at marriage, and 51 at birth of last child.
This is not impossible, but 32 is quite old for a first marriage and more like a second marriage, which would make the surname incorrect.
Did you contact people who have your family in their trees?

I was just checking BVRI again after realizing that 11 children between 1772-1789 seemed excessive. I only see 6 children now born in Great Cheverell between 1770- 1782. I don't know where I got the list of 11 children? So sorry. She would have been 32 at birth of first child and 44 at birth of last.
