A relative is reputed to have been sent to India to study art around 1920. Any idea where he might have gone?

Have you tried a google search? I would imagine there are lots of places though! Maybe asking for a passenger list search might be more fruitful.

Thanks. I tried Google first, but I thought someone might have more personal knowledge of where young men from the UK would have been sent.

The Bengal school of Art, was the one that was of importance during the British Raj in the early 20th Century.... known for its modernism in the 1920s. I am guessing this is where he may have gone... have a look at this wikipedia site.
