If you look at the image, the 84a entry is handwritten at the bottom of the column, meaning it was late registration. The only way you will know for certain is to buy both the certs and see if the mother's and other details are the same.

If they were twins, the time of birth should be on the birth certs (assuming they were both girls).

Twins in my family had the same reference number.

It may mean that the original birth record had an amendment done to it

They could well be twins, they could be cousins ( 2 sisters married 2 brothers and these are children of each couple) ...or they could just be a coincidence

I dont know, i have my dad who is a twin but both are registered same page under each other and are both 10e same mothers name, where did you find the record i will check my dads out on the same site

Advice please,

When I searched the birth of my aunt I came across another birth in the same month of the same year and both had the same mothers maiden name, the record numbers were 1a 84 and 1a 84a does this mean that they are twins?
