Thanks, this is a super site I am going to put some photos on it as I have been taking pics of the countryside around my home for years. I can do the before and after pics marking the changes over the past 30/40 years. GREAT :-D

The first time I went on that site, I found a fantastic view of my high school, showing just how isolated it was on the top of a hill outside the town, and with one of the town's reservoirs near by.

The school only opened in 1951, but has been replaced by an "academy", and the plan is to demolish it before too long.

Pity ........ it had wonderful wood floors, and glorious views over the town and the moors!

I've just spent the last hour looking at photos of the villages where my paternal ancestors came from in Wiltshire.

It's about a 5 hour drive from where I live and although I visited the area when I first started my family history research in 2003 I haven't been able to visit again, and the photographs bring back lots of memories.

I can see me spending a lot of time on this site looking at all of the areas where my other ancestors lived.

Wow... thank you for this link.

I've just 'journeyed' back to childhood haunts and even viewed the font where I was Christened.
Will definitely be back to look at more.....

it is great isn't it?

I can spend hours just browsing

but I've also printed off photos of several churches, including the one where my gt gt grandparents married in 1835 ...... having walked some 15 miles or so from their home town.

not to mention churches connected with our families snce the 1600 or 1700s
