Looking around on Google it appears that "Bird Stuffer" may have been an early form of Taxidermist.

If you look here you will see it mentioned:-

I would think his daughter was a servant - and the line is just crossed through it by the enumerator when he was possibly counting up all servants in the entire census return. They often crossed through things.

My version

I should say that the deleted bit, means just that, on the original it states servant, but has a black line running through it, so it gives the impression its not her job, but it might be just the enumerator putting a line through it as often happens.

Dont know about bird stuffer, the mind boggles, looking at old occupations there is mention of,

Bird Boy Scared away birds from crops


Bird Catcher Caught birds for sale

Not sure if they apply though.

it says "servant" but then it's been crossed out, hence "servant deleted"

Are you sure it doesn't say Servant - domestic ?

I've just been having a little giggle I'm looking for my Husbands Gt grandfather and came across these occupations William Gardener and Bird Stuffer and his Daughter was a servant Deleted ? what the hell does that mean. :-D
