I would be so grateful if anyone could find something beyond 1911 for this lady.

She was born in Barnsley in 1890, christened 16th October 1890 at St George's Barnsley. I have her and her family (parents Walter and Fanny) in Vauxhall, Birmingham where she is shown as 20 and a paper bag maker. I have snippets of info on her siblings but there is also the possibliity that she simply 'disappeared'. Walter was not a nice person. Maybe she walked away from her family and changed her name - it's something I have to bear in mind.

After that I'm stumped. Ive spent the last few evenings on here, FreeBMD playing every game I can think of to find her. I've done surname variations, used the phonetic search on FreeBMD and the widest possible searches I can do and nothing. She is from Rob's side of the family and his mom is no longer here for me to ask. I can't find a marriage or a death and her name doesn't mean anything to Rob.

Unless I can come up with something new, she is going to be unsolved until maybe/if/when the 1921 is released.

Maybe I've just plan missed something. I would really grateful for a fresh set of eyes.

Thanks.

Jill

Will send a private message with a "possible" marriage.

Thanks Kath

I've sent you a reply. My thoughts are that as you say, it means a very late first marriage for Dorothy.

Thanks for helping.

I've sent you another private message as I think the marriage I sent you was wrong.

Thanks but I've got details of the baptism info from FamilySearch. The travel info looks interesting though.

Obviously it shows this Dorothy E. coming into the country. Please - is there any sign of her leaving the UK in the first place? I can't see this person's birth on FreeBMD in the rough time slot.

Of course, this lady might not have been born here.

Many thanks

I can't access the outgoing records so can't help with that one - but someone might. And yes, it might not be her, or it might be a married name but worth trying to check it out.

Thank you for this Colin. My gut instinct is to think that this isn't my Dorothy but I stand to be proved wrong at some point.

This is great info. Thank you.
