Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

Have you found his birth details ? have you looked at Ancestry for the LMA records, if you're very lucky you may find a baptism for him there?

I am trying to trace my Grandfather and his family...Trouble is he was Orphaned somewhere in the 1870's and placed into THe Shoreditch Workhouse where he appears as Inmate in the 1881 Census. I have his military records that state his parents as XXX and XXX but they don't match up to family stories. His Brother apparently went into Barnardos..

Grandad lists his place of birth as Hackney but Soreditch on other documents.

Can someone give me a sensible approach as to unravelling this conundrum??
