A lot of people in Northumberland in those days were non-conformist so the marriage may be recorded separately from parish records.

There were also a lot of Irregular Marriages in Northumberland (and many of these were not recorded at all). These were valid in law but not approved by the Church

I have a little book which lists some of these Irregular Marriages which were advertised in the "Berwick Advertiser" and other Boarder Newspapers between 1808 and 1864, but unfortunately the one you are looking for is not mentioned.

I have searched for years for my husband's great-grandparent's marriage in Northumberland but haven't found it. Of course they may never have married.
