Hi,

My 5 x G grandparents were married on the 8th Nov 1808 at Saint Marys,Lichfield,Staffordshire.
their names were Joseph Davis/Davies & Elizabeth Hill

They had there first child in 1809 and there last child in 1821.

I can't find them in the 1841 Census

What i'm asking is really what could be their birth years, and how old could Elizabeth be when she had her last child in 1821.

I hope that makes sense

Regards
Val

At a guess I would say she could be 18 at marriage, making her born abt. 1790. She would be abt 19 when first child was born and 31 at last child. That's still fairly young for last child so she could have been born much earlier.

Have you looked to see if you can find them in the household of one of their children in 1841 or later?

In theory Elizabeth could have been able to bear children into her late forties.

Margee

Thank's for your message I did find a birth for 1767 but i thought that would be too old to have her first child in 1809 and last in 1821.

Jill,
Thank's for your message
I can not find Joseph or Elizabeth with any off their children in 1841

Were Joseph or Elizabeth shown as witness at their children's weddings?
Or informant on any other certificate?

Not easy with that surname.... but is Joseph widowed / re married in 1841.
Elizabeth could have died young, in childbirth perhaps.
.
You could do with seeing original records and perhaps marriage register featuring any of the children marrying. You could compare signatures if you found a possible remarriage

Joseph's occupation would be shown on his children's marriage entries hopefully.

A burial register might give clues too.

You could be right I am waiting for the Parish records to be indexed
for St Mary's ,Lichfield

I have e-mailed the Family History Group and the e-mail i received back
telling me that its nearly complete so I'll just have to wait a bit longer.

Many Thanks
