Are there passenger lists of Irish who immigrated to (Liverpool), England around 1830's or Irish who immigrated to Canada around 1825-1830 available? If not, how does one find out where in Ireland their ancestors came from this early on.

Thanks,
Carole

Moving from the UK to Liverpool hardly counts as immigration - in spite of the obvious language difficulties.

There's not much re passenger lists to Canada pre-1865

Also, Grosse Ile didn't open until 1832, so no luck there.

A UK census occassionally gives some info on where in Ireland they came from (e.g., below) - a Canadian never does so far as I know.

Census Place Pemberton, Lancashire, England

It was the same country before the partition in 1922. There are several sites in which one can read about the partition, just one of which is

I guess "immigrate" was a poor choice of word. All I meant was there any passenger lists for those who travelled to England from Ireland. I was quite aware that it was considered the same country before 1922. I Should have used the word "migrated" or "moved". But thanks, for your help and quick responses everyone :-D
